How to Wash and Care for Sublimated Jerseys (So They Last Years)
Share the news!
Custom sublimated jerseys are built to perform—lightweight, breathable, and designed to keep their colors sharp ride after ride. But even the best gear won’t last if it’s treated the wrong way.
If you want your motocross or MTB jersey to look fresh for years, proper care is essential. The good news? It’s simple once you know what to do.
Sublimated jerseys aren’t printed on top of the fabric—the design is infused into the fibers. That’s why they:
- Don’t crack or peel
- Stay vibrant over time
- Remain breathable and lightweight
Your jersey (typically 86% polyester / 14% elastane) is made for performance—but it still needs the right care to maintain its shape and color.
Washing Your Jersey the Right Way
✅ Wash your custom jersey at 30°C (86°F)
Always wash your jersey at 30 degrees.
- Protects the elasticity of the fabric
- Prevents color fading
- Reduces wear over time
Hot water is one of the fastest ways to damage performance fabrics.
✅ Use Mild Detergent
Avoid aggressive detergents or softeners.
- No fabric softener (it clogs breathable fibers)
- No bleach (can damage colors and fabric structure)
❌ No Dryer
Heat is your jersey’s biggest enemy.
- Can damage elastane (stretch fibers)
- May cause shrinking or warping
- Shortens lifespan significantly
Always air dry your jersey.
❌ Do Not Iron
There’s no need—and it can ruin the fabric.
- High heat can melt synthetic fibers
- Can leave shiny marks or distort the material
❌ Avoid Rough Washing Cycles
- Skip heavy-duty cycles
- Avoid washing with rough items (like zippers or velcro)
Really pay attention to not wash with Velcro, as it can catch on the fabric and cause it to fray.
