Kim Irmgartz. Fast on the bike, strong in her mind – and, by the way, Miss NRW.

Kim Irmgartz proves that motocross doesn’t fit into one single box. She races, trains consistently, lives a structured life – and was crowned Miss NRW in 2020. Motocross boots and a crown? Surprisingly, it works. She has been riding motocross since childhood, and what started as a hobby became a central part of her life. Years of national and international racing, including experience in the WMX environment, shaped her into a rider known for consistency. For several years now, she has been part of the scene as an O’NEAL athlete.

As part of the O’NEAL team, Kim competes in custom Checkered Design jerseys – just like all O’NEAL athletes, who are equipped with individually designed jerseys from Checkered Design.

The “Lady in Red”

On track, Kim is easy to recognize: a red Honda, a red setup – which is exactly why she’s known as the “Lady in Red”. A nickname that stuck and suits her perfectly. Supporting girls and women in motocross is especially close to her heart, and she regularly hosts motocross training camps, mainly for girls, focusing on clean riding, safety, and confidence on the bike.

More Than Racing

In addition to racing and coaching other girls riding dirtbikes, Kim also works as a stunt double, taking part in productions where motorcycle experience is required. Off the bike, she works with the police, where her sporting career is actively supported – a combination that shows how professional sport and a demanding job can go hand in hand.

Kim’s Words

"Everything I’ve achieved has cost me courage, and though I wasn’t born a ‘power woman,’ I’ve learned that what looks effortless to others comes through mistakes, retries, and daring to believe in myself—a choice anyone can make to trust themselves, try new things, and remember that being a woman doesn’t limit what you can do."
